I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving on Thursday. My family and I celebrated by going to the Thanksgiving Parade in the city. It was a blast seeing all the cool floats--Garfield especially. There was still snow on the ground from the previous day's snowfall. It was so cold that my fingers froze and toes went numb, but I survived with a minor fallback, a cold.
We came home and celebrated Thanksgiving small family style in the afternoon. It was a delicious feast with all the traditional foods like mashed potatoes (unfortunately not in the photo), gravy, and cranberry sauce. However, we decided to replace the turkey with a precooked chicken, and it was pretty tasty.
At night, my parents went out to shop the Black Friday sales (now moved to Thursday), and my sister and I went to go watch Mockingjay Part I. I don't remember the details of the book, but based on what I'm able to recall, the movie did a pretty great job of embodying the plot. Part I was mainly about Katniss being the face of the rebellion and saving the victors from the Capitol.
On Black Friday, my parents were mostly finished shopping because stores pushed their opening hours back onto Thanksgiving night. My parents got me another beta fish and a fish bowl for the one I have now. I got my first fish on June 19th, the day before 9th grade ended. He is vibrant blue and I named him Mr. Bubbles because he always made these bubble nests when I first got him. The new fish my parents got me yesterday on November 28 is crimson red with milky spots on his chin, so I named him Waldo. When I put them next to each other, they would face each other, but only Mr. Bubbles would flare up. Maybe it's because Waldo is still adjusting, but he doesn't seem very active.
